Notable Residents
[edit]Notable means people have heard of them - I live one town away from Bedford and they're news to me. I will delete them again, but perhaps the anon could provide a good explanation for returning and maintaining them (preferably one without "morons" - wikipedia isn't Usenet). One way of doing this is to turn them into wikipedia links, then follow them, thus creating a page for that person, where their biography details could be placed. - DavidWBrooks 17:25, 29 April 2005 (UTC)
- "Chyna" not "China"
- I believe they are referring to the former pro wrestler Joanie Laurer, who went by the name Chyna. She's actually from Londonderry, but she might have a house in Bedford. 208.5.197.130 21:13, 28 October 2005
- Speaking as someone who has been and will be adding notable residents to this page, as well as others, I hope that providing a reference to indicate that they already qualify as noted will prevent their deletion. Such listings as these can also provide a way to provide "virtual stubs" for those people who do qualify as notable but do not yet have their own pages. I am in the process of myself creating or adding to the lists of people from virtually everywhere, which takes up rather a lot of time and at this point precludes creating pages on each and every name I find. Removed trivia

Added citation for Seth Meyers
[edit]Added a citation. I think anyone who is familiar with Bedford knows that the Meyers family is pretty established in the town, but thanks to his mother's recent retirement from teaching French in the Bedford public school system (and subsequent appearance of Seth for the establishment of a foundation in her mother's name), a slew of articles have been written backing up this point. — Devin.chaloux (chat) 15:56, 14 July 2012 (UTC)
Notable people
[edit]Dr James Gilbert Baker, responsible for design and build, inventor of Optical Lens for U2 and Blackbird Spy Planes. Also the Polaroid SX70 lens. Lived in Bedford Nh 2601:18D:8701:D00:51F1:80FF:7569:AEAB (talk) 12:39, 16 February 2022 (UTC)
Main picture
[edit]Why is the Presbyterian church the main picture for the Bedford article? Maybe we can update to the town hall (new or old) or library or something else more representative of the town. It's not even the majority religion there. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2400:2413:5b20:5200:9ca4:ce98:5174:86e1 (talk) 13:31, 26 December 2024 (UTC)
- Frequently, when people add a photo for the infobox, they go for picturesque rather than institutional significance. In articles about rural (or formerly rural) places in New England, you'll often see infobox photos of whichever church happens to stand out visually in that town. There's no rule for or against. Sometimes it's the town hall, but less often than you'd think. Often the town hall is not very interesting to look at. If you can find a photo that's more attractive that covers something of significance and/or interest in the town, go for it. Ken Gallager (talk) 13:52, 26 December 2024 (UTC)
